Origins
Revelation grew from the D7Peacemaker Project.
The storyline was developed over a period of 6 months, nearly every night, 4 hours a night, mostly after midnight.
Other titles included 'Dementia7', 'The Revelation', 'D7Peacemaker - Revelation'.
Ashley Tomei is age 14, around the original age she was created at in the comic book. This was intended to give the character a much more difficult task in accomplishing impossible missions. The Pilot episode has her at 17. This character's age has shifted now over 30 times. top
Concepts
The storyline in the Pilot episode would take us from the very first chapter of Revelation onward to the end. The current stroyline begins around the 7th trumpet after the
7th seal is opened, or approximately the middle of Revelation.
Pilot Episode 1 - Head of the Dragon was written in 1 month and edited over 4 months.
Episode 1 - Have You Seen Me? was written in 2 days. It was edited over 2 weeks. top
Characters
Pilot Episode 1 had over 36 characters. The final Episode 1 has 14.
Ashley Tomei is based off of the D7 character. Amajority of her character traits including her backstory were taken from D7's original story from the D7PEacemaker comic book drawn in 1997.
Ashley's mother Seraphim Tomei was cut after the pilot and her backstory was given to Ashleyt and some to the Snow character.
Ashley's previous name (which survived many revisions of the first script) was Felicity. Her last name Tomei, is actually the last name of her biggest rival in the D7Peacemaker series, Yoshi Tomei.
Ashley has had 5 previous design changes in Revelation.
Nathan Elliot got his name from Arik's brothers Charles Elliot Avila and Nathan Paul avila. His character traits follow his original character from D7Peacemaker - Stage 1 rather than the character from the D7Peacemaker films.
Sakura Grey's character has taken her traits and roles from the Lieutenant Jynetik Lajiko character in the D7Peacemaker storyline, including her colors and outfit. Yet overall she was designed with the persona of Sakura Grey.
Snow Lemming's character was completely redeisgned form the ground up, keeping only a few things, her height and the use of two guns from the D7Peacemaker - Final Protocol storyline.
Due to feedback from consumers as well as other proffessionals, Bridget 'Snow' Lemming's hair was redisgned as well as some of her facial features.
The beloved penguin character 'Marshmallow' from the D7Peacemaker storyline, is scheduled to make an appearance in a later episode.
Director Veronica Nein is derived from the V9 character in the D7Peacemaker universe. V9 was a short version of the name Veronica, for whom the character was named after.
Sgt. Merit and Sgt. Jones can also be found the in the D7Peacemaker - Stage 1 movie.
Dr. Grayfin Henmore was created as the main Antagonist in D7Peacemaker - Nightfall. top
Dropped Footage
This is the 3rd rendition of Revelation. 3 animatics were put together and completed, including an extension of the Pilot episode, so in essence, Episode 1 has been made 3 times over and recorded for the second time.
The three tree hill fight
scene between D7 and her mother V1, was completely redeisgned and placed back in for Pilot Episode 1 between Ashley and her Mother Seraphim, the original unedited scene was intended for Pilot Episode 1's extension. It was never re-entered, concluding that a neat idea, is sometimes just a neat idea.
Seraphim's fight scene in the museum in Pilot Episode 1 is actually the fight scene from the Nightfall animatic she has with the Peacemakers trying to get to Grayfin Henmore. I felt the artwork and motion were really great and wanted to see that fight sequence colored. top
Audio
Some of the Voice over used for Pilot Episode 1 is voice over taken from the D7Peacemaker - Nightfall and Prodigal Child Voice over recordings.
Most of the soundtrack for Pilot Episode 1 came from the original D7Peacemaker - Stage 1 feature.
Ashley's prayer on the rooftop in Episode 1, is derived from her prayer from the first D7Peacemaker - Nightfall animatic. top
Techniques
The previous method for character drawings included the process of drawing over the top of scanned images. In many cases the characters are drawn completely from scracth in Flash MX with a mouse.
Pilot Episode 1 had over 400 shots for 7 and a half minutes. Final Episode 1 has a little over 200 shots for 23 minutes, or in essence, half the shots for 3 times as long.
